Been silent far too long. What's happened in the more than a year since last posting? Well, traveled around the world; attended several conferences in Sweden; finished editing a book of essays with a colleague--The Political Interest of Gender Revisited, (forthcoming University of Manchester Press); finished writing another book, The Road From Hell is Not Paved: A Woman's Thinking Journey (sadly, no publisher yet); got our non-profit theater company, Laterthanever Productions, back into action; started adapting several Grace Paley stories for the stage (to be produced on the stage of the Tenth Avenue Playhouse, between E and Broadway, San Diego CA, March 2009; a series of one-acts adapted for stage by Federico Moramarco will be produced in January 2009, same venue); directed an NEH seminar on Hannah Arendt for 15 schoolteachers from around the country; joined a fantastic group of writers in San Diego for bi-weekly read and critique sessions; started caring for my grandson a few days a week. In short, been pretty busy...But getting back to it now. Watch for more frequent reports on the joys and pains of writing in the coming weeks.
